19 year-old dead in aftermath of crash near Desert Bloom park in Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed a tragic incident on Saturday night in the south-central part of the valley. At approximately 10:48 p.m., officers responded to the area of South Maryland Parkway north of East Wigwam Avenue and discovered the aftermath of a fatal car crash. According to the police report, 47-year-old Keith Gardner was driving a Mercedes-Benz at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and veered across the concrete center median. The front of the Mercedes-Benz then collided with a Subaru that had been stopped at a red light. The impact of the crash redirected the Subaru north and sent the Mercedes-Benz careening into a metal light pole before it finally came to rest in Desert Bloom Park. Unfortunately, the 19-year-old driver of the Subaru did not survive the crash.
