Members of Richard Harris’ firms have become Nevada District Court judges and named Nevada Trial Lawyer of the Year, including partner Ben Cloward. Partners of the firm have advanced training and certification in personal injury trial practice. The Firm and its principal counsel have successfully handled mass tort defective prescription drug and medical device litigation on a local and national level for over 25 years including cases against Vitek, Inc., Guidant Corp. and Medtronic PLC. The Firm strategically partnered in mass tort litigation involving DePuy Hip Prostheses, Proton Pump Inhibitors, Taxotere, Xarelto, Risperdol, IVC Filter, Talcum Powder, Vaginal and Hernia Mesh. Partner Nia Killebrew successfully battled pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributers, medical professionals and insurers over the largest outbreak of Hepatitis C in United States history.

The Richard Harris Law Firm has decades of experience and deep roots in Nevada. Richard Harris is a 50-plus year resident of Nevada and worked in the family business in Las Vegas at the Boulevard Mall and delivered Nifty Nickel classified ad papers before graduating from Las Vegas’ Western High School in 1971. During college he worked as a porter at the Westward Ho Casino on the Las Vegas Strip and as a security guard at Howard Hughes’ Summa Corporation headquarters. A strong academic record in law school led to Richard Harris’ selection as a law clerk intern to Chief Justice John Mowbray of the Nevada Supreme Court.

Mr. Harris is committed to legal education and taught Law Practice Management for 5 years as an adjunct professor at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Boyd School of Law. He is Patron of the Nevada Justice Association Series on Continuing Legal Education named in his honor. Mr. Harris received a post-J.D. LL.M degree (Master of Laws) in Dispute Resolution in 2009 from Pepperdine University School of Law, Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. In 2015 the State Bar of Nevada appointed Richard Harris to the newly created Board of Personal Injury Specialization as an examiner. Richard Harris and partner Ben Cloward are Board Certified Personal Injury Specialists.

Richard Harris served on the Board of Governors of the Nevada Justice Association and as a lobbyist for injured victims’ rights in the Nevada Legislature. In 2010 the Nevada Justice Association selected Mr. Harris for the Badger Award, the association’s highest honor for public service. In 2016 the Nevada Justice Association honored Richard Harris with its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dr. Ben Rodriguez was riding his bicycle when he was hit from behind by a vehicle. Ben sustained multiple and severe injuries including a lacerated left arm, which resulted in a severe infection. Dr. Rodriguez was unable to return to work for several weeks and then only to an abbreviated schedule.
