Las Vegas, NV (August 06, 2020) – Local law enforcement officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as well as emergency response teams were requested at the site of a car accident that took place on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 5th at around 3:50 p.m. at the intersection of Sun City Boulevard and Button Willow Drive.
The emergency dispatch logs offer minimal information but suggest that the collision, the cause of which has yet to be established, involved at least two vehicles,.
Reports claiming that victims were injured during the impact are still contingent on police verification. First responders, however, did respond to the accident scene and would have given a medical evaluation to anyone involved in the crash and ensured that the relevant medical treatment or transportation was administered to any injured victims.
The identities and post-accident medical conditions of those involved have not been made known. It is also unclear at this time if anyone who took part in the incident was issued a traffic citation.
Due to the fact that this incident is still under the professional inquiry of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in an attempt to establish cause and liability, no additional details have been made readily available.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Car Accidents in Las Vegas
It is common knowledge that driving faster than the legal posted speed limit increases your risk of being involved in a serious car accident. In spite of this harsh truth, speeding is still one of the top three causes of fatal car accidents in the state of Nevada. As revealed by data collected by the state’s Department of Public Safety, in 2017, excessive speed was a primary causative factor in over 30% of car accident-related deaths throughout the state. These numbers, as alarming as they may be, are in line with the same statistic on a national level, which shows that 26% of all fatal car accidents in the United States are caused by speeding.
