PRODUCT: Firefighting Foam

Use

A firefighting foam, known as aqueous film forming foam (AFFF), contains dangerous chemicals which may be linked to cancer cases. The durable and lasting effect of such dangerous chemicals does not allow the environment or body to break them down over time and chemicals remain in and affect the body for years to come. Because of this, it may remain in the body for years. AFFF, containing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), is intended to assist in extinguishing petroleum or fuel-based fires and has assisted first responders and firefighters in their occupation for decades.

Firefighting foam has been used on military bases, airport properties and within firefighter organizations for years. Chemicals in firefighting foam may weaken one’s immune system and may cause additional injuries beyond cancer, such as fertility issues, pregnancy issues in females, lasting liver damage, breathing concerns, and many more.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING FIREFIGHTING FOAM CANCER CASES

Manufacturers of firefighting foam, AFFF, may have been aware of the chemical use in firefighting foam products for years, but been negligent in the use of their product and the long-term effects it may have on human health.

Reputable health sources and official organizations, such as the American Cancer Society (ACS) and The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have recognized and addressed that dangerous chemicals, including PFAS, may have ties to cancer cases in firefighters and first responders.

If diagnosed with cancer or suffering from another disease and injury following exposure to firefighting foam, the cost of treatment may be extreme–not to mention the long-lasting health concerns and effects it may have.
