What to do if Injured at The Silverton
There are several steps you need to take when injured at any casino hotel including The Silverton.
Any good lawyer will tell you to follow these steps to protect yourself going forward:
Once you’re injured you need to notify the management or security officer of the casino hotel.
Once the hotel has been notified, request medical attention. You may think that you don’t need it and that you may not be injured but go get checked out anyway.
You never know what injuries you have that are not visible. Also injuries can present themselves later.
You will also need medical records for any future claims you might need to make.
When you are safe, gather as much evidence as you can. This means take video and photos on your phone of the accident scene and the injuries if you can. If you notice any other guests that witness the incident ask to get their contact information and ask them to give a statement as to what they witnessed. Gather any other information like reports and video from the casino.
Don’t accept any immediate offers for compensation. Casinos have a tendency to offer immediate solutions to a problem, if you win big they offer you a suite, if you lose a few dollars you’ll get a free buffet. The same applies if you get hurt while at a casino like The Silverton.
The Silverton may offer you something that looks like compensation, like a free stay or vacation package.
It might sound like a good idea but never accept these offers. Going forward these gifts can be misinterpreted as a part of your settlement for the injuries you sustained. Also never sign anything that releases the company from liability.
Contact an experienced legal expert in casino injury cases. Casino owners and insurance representatives will try to have you settle your claim with low ball offers or try to deny your claim altogether. After you seek medical treatment and before you do anything else you need to seek the advice of a legal representative who can help you navigate the claims process and get you the settlement you deserve.
