Pedestrian Killed In Suspected DUI North Of Downtown, Tuesday Morning
Police responded to a deadly pedestrian crash early Tuesday morning on Las Vegas Blvd just before 2 a.m. , near Owens Avenue.
Evidence shows that a 2006 Honda Accord was speeding going west on Owens when the driver swerved because of stopped traffic.
The Honda avoiding the stopped traffic went into the eastbound lanes and hit a pedestrian on the sidewalk, a power box , and a light pole.
Both the driver and the passenger of the Honda were seen running from the scene, but later returned. Both were detained at the scene.and suspected impairment.
Police obtained a warrant to draw blood and the driver was arrested for DUI and other related charges. The pedestrian died from their injuries.
The name of the suspect and the victim have not been released at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
