Woman killed in crash near Beatty, NV
Last week, a fatal accident occurred on U.S. 95 north of Beatty, Nevada. According to the Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol spokesperson, the incident happened at around 7:30 a.m. on Friday, May 26. An investigation revealed that the driver of a silver 2009 Honda sedan was travelling southbound on the highway and failed to stay in their lane, veering onto the dirt shoulder on the west side of the highway. The driver then overcorrected and reentered the highway, causing the car to rotate counterclockwise and veer onto the east side of the highway, before going airborne and overturning. The passenger, 39-year-old Cassandra Jeannine Bjork of Minneapolis, was ejected during the crash and pronounced dead at the scene. So far this year, 38 people have died in 34 crashes in the NSP Southern Command’s jurisdiction.
