Road Rage Incident On 215 In Henderson Leaves 11-Year-Old Dead
Two vehicles in a heated exchange in Henderson leaves an 11-year-old dead after a road rage incident on the 215 Southern Beltway Friday morning.
According to Henderson Police the incident happened at approximately 7:30 a.m. on the 215 near Stephanie Street and Gibson Road.
Two vehicles, a sedan and an SUV were trying to pass each other leading to a verbal exchange.
The driver of the sedan then took out a handgun and shot into the back of the SUV. The backseat of the SUV was occupied by the 11-year-old stepson of the driver. The child was shot after the driver of the sedan shot once.
The driver of the SUv rammed the sedan with his vehicle and both vehicles stopped in the middle of the highway leading to another altercation.
A Metropolitan Police Officer who was in the area was able to take the suspected shooter into custody. Despite life saving efforts by first responders and University Medical Center Staff the 11-year-old died of his injuries.
