Students were encouraged to use their creative talents to showcase Nevada’s exceptional people, places, charities, and social causes.
Scholarship Winners

“The Silver Treasures”

Vibrant, seasonal scenes composed of hyacinths, pansies, and cherry blossom trees,
Where art and nature meet, a place of dusty oranges and blushing pinks splashed against sunshine yellows and sky blues of a breathtaking sight,
A world of lively legends, marvelous myths, and captivating cultures opened with the Silver State’s keys,
Fabulous floral patterns of vibrant hot air balloons, dazzling carousels, and majestic creatures taking flight.
Stunning, crimson, sandstone surrounded by beavertail cacti and petroglyph art,
On hot summer days, deep in the dauntless valley, fire rises from Vegas’s desert ashes,
We are Vegas Strong rising from the fiery cliffs of our heart,
Illuminating the rigid terrain with ancient and passionate flashes.
Natural geothermal pressure creating a rainbow-colored wonder,
Like a primrose yellow submarine looking for hidden treasure in the depths of the deep blue ocean,
Continuous towers of sparkling water and warm steam creep up from under,
Flourishing in the flaming Nevada desert, a multitude of emerald and garnet hues in motion.
Faintly visible in the moonlit sky, the spiraled Milky Way paints a picture with heavenly stars,
Above the sea surface, arises a natural granite pyramid of kashmir gold mixed with macadamia brown: pure rock,
Reflecting rays of hope on the lake’s tranquil tide as they rise, brightening the pitch-black evening with gold bars,
The swirling sky unravels the rumble within a crystal-clear mirror: water meeting the atmosphere in a beautiful shock.
From fire-kissed ashes to honey sand beneath the saltwater deep, the riches of the Silver State awake countless sights,
Fusing together as unparalleled vistas unbounded by time’s everlasting memoir,
A kaleidoscopic array of seething textures, swirling neon sapphires and amethysts, and shining lights,
It holds a geological wonderland with mesmerizing elements and ephemeral seasons of noblest par.
The dial of the compass is drawn by the magnetic pull of the beating heart,
Together we, Nevada, travel through a labyrinth of love never to part.
