Sixteen years of desert plains,
And hot summer days until it rains
Though oppressed with insufficient greenery,
A factor always constant is the city’s scenery

With twinkling lights from a birds-eye view,
Nevada bares a glow accustomed to you
Hidden treasures along the way
Reveal themselves in a special array

From the bright lights of Vegas to the states’ northern edge,
Nevada’s true beauty is one of which to pledge
For every coyote which howls into the night skies,
A faint cry is still heard once the sun comes to rise

But don’t let the evening mysteries frighten you,
As they are merely sparks of mother nature’s hue
Just like wind carries each grain of sand,
The Mojave holds its legacy to death’s end

From the hot summer days into the cool damp nights,
A quaint brick balcony is where to gaze upon sites
And as you lay awake in bed
You may just hear nature’s song unsaid

For out of every fifty states only one comes to mind
The glorious wonders of Nevada are one of a kind
In years to come I can say with glee,
The silver state will forever reside with me

So take me back to the Red Rock lands
Where tranquility and peace go hand-in-hand
And though I may another place home,
Nevada is the place where my memories roam.
