Motorcyclist Dies After Crash With SUV On Jones Boulevard, Monday
Jones Boulevard and Eldora was the scene of a deadly accident Monday afternoon involving an SUV and a motorcycle. The accident happened at around 3:30 p.m. during the beginning of the evening traffic rush. Traffic was brought to a standstill as police investigated the accident. According to the investigation, the accident happened when a Mercedes-Benz Suv made a left turn into the path of the motorcycle at Jones Boulevard and Eldora Avenue.
The Mercedes_Benz GL 450 was traveling eastbound on Eldora Avenue and made a left turn after coming to a stop at the posted stop sign and came into the path of a Honda CBR 1000 that was heading southbound on Jones Boulevard and was approaching Eldora Avenue.
The Mercedes was able to come to a stop after the crash but the 23-year-old male rider of the motorcycle was ejected from the bike.
The rider was taken to UMC but was later pronounced dead due to his injuries. The driver of the Mercedes, a 36-year-old female, remained at the scene, and did not show any signs of impairment.
