Pedestrian was struck and killed in Las Vegas Valley
A pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place in the southeast Las Vegas valley on Monday evening. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of East Flamingo Road and Burnham Avenue at 7:35 p.m. After conducting a preliminary investigation, which included examining the evidence at the scene and taking witness statements, it was determined that a 2007 Honda Pilot was traveling eastbound on East Flamingo Road, approaching Burnham. At the same time, a pedestrian was crossing East Flamingo Road outside of a marked crosswalk.
The police stated that the collision occurred when the pedestrian stepped into the path of the Honda and was hit, causing them to be thrown onto the roadway. Medical personnel who arrived at the scene pronounced the pedestrian dead. The driver of the Honda stayed at the scene of the crash and did not exhibit any signs of impairment.
