Hit And Run Leaves Pedestrian Dead Near Boulder Highway
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were called to the scene of a hit and run Saturday night at around 8:35 p.m. on Boulder Highway at East Tropicana Avenue.
The accident occurred as a 67 year-old pedestrian was crossing Boulder Highway from the west side to the east side in the marked crosswalk but did not comply with the traffic signal.
According to police a 2007 Toyota Corolla, was traveling south on Boulder Highway struck the pedestrian, throwing him into the roadway.
LVMPD reported the driver of the Toyota stopped at the scene and did not show signs of impairment.
After the initial incident another vehicle believed to be a white 2012-2022 Volkswagen Passat, also traveling south on Boulder Highway struck the pedestrian that was laying in the road from the initial accident.
The driver of the second vehicle did not stop at the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are continuing to investigate the accident. This is the 42 traffic-related deaths this year in LVMPD’s jurisdiction.
