Father Of Two Killed By Drunk Driver On His Way To Pick Up His Daughters
The crash happened Friday near the intersection of Jones and Elkhorn when a driver under the influence swerved into traffic striking single father Jimmy McCoy 62.
McCoy was on his way to pick up his two young daughters, ages 6 and 8 from school.
The driver of the other vehicle Jesus Robles, 49 was intoxicated at the time of the crash and vered into oncoming traffic striking McCoys vehicle. Jesus Robles had been facing additional DUI charges from a previous incident when this crash occurred.
Robles is being held without bail on various charges and will make a preliminary court appearance on March 13th. McCoy is being remembered by his family , leaving two young children without their father.
Drunk Driving is never OK, take a ride share, a cab, call a friend but don’t get behind the wheel if you’ve been drinking.
