Semi-Truck Rollover Crash Leaves Driver Hospitalized On I-15 Near Jean
A white Freightliner semi-truck caused traffic delays on the I-15 near Jean Saturday. The accident happened at 10:58 a.m. at mile marker 10. According to reports the semi-truck crash caused two lanes of the I-15 to be closed.
According to the police the driver of the semi-truck struck the center median barrier and rollover. The driver of the truck was taken to a nearby hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. No other vehicles were involved and the cause is not known. The clean up from the crash lasted over 12 hours, causing traffic to be diverted to the highway shoulder.
Nevada State Police are investigating the crash. Semi-trucks are heavy with freight and during inclement weather they can easily skid out and jacknife causing serious accidents and even death. Staying vigilant when driving near semi-trucks is important. You might not be able to get out of the way in time to avoid an accident. Alway be aware of your surroundings when driving near semi-truck on major highways like the I-15.
