Driver arrested after crash that kills woman on the US 95
A man who was accused of drunk driving faced multiple charges after crashing into a 23-year-old woman on U.S. 95 on Saturday morning. According to Nevada State police, the crash occurred at 6:58 a.m. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse was traveling at a high rate of speed, heading northbound on U.S. 95 near mile marker 99 in Clark County. The vehicle then collided with a 2020 Hyundai Elantra from behind. Both cars veered off the road and into a desert area before flipping over. The Chevrolet came to a stop on its wheels, facing southeast of U.S. 95, while the Hyundai ended up on its roof, facing southwest, just east of U.S. 95.
The driver of the Hyundai was identified as 23-year-old Natalie Villegas from Nellis Air Force Base, according to Nevada State Police. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family confirmed on GoFundMe that she had just left the Air Force base. The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as 38-year-old Hetsel Campos and was arrested. Jail records show that Campos was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Clark County Jail
