Wrong-Way Crash Leaves One Dead, Sunday Morning In Sparks
Nevada State Police responded to a fatal accident early Sunday morning on I-80 in Sparks. The accident happened at 4:46 a.m. on westbound I-80 near Pyramid Way.
According to police a car was driving in the wrong direction when it hit a semi-truck head-on. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. The driver of the semi-truck was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Westbound I-80 at Pyramid Highway was closed to traffic for a time while the crash was removed and investigated.
The crash is still under investigation and the identity of the deceased has not been released at this time. It is unknown if impairment played a role in the accident.
