North Las Vegas Valley Crash Claims The Life Of Two, Friday

North Las Vegas Police were called to the scene of a two car crash Friday around 1 p.m. near the area of Centennial Parkway and Donna Street.

Once arriving on the scene the police found a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Avalon were involved in the crash. According a preliminary investigation it is believed that the Corolla was on Donna Street south of Centennial Parkway and stopped at the stop sign. The Avalon with the right of way was heading east on Centennial Parkway toward Donna Street. The driver of the Corolla even though stopped attempted to cross Centennial Parkway not yielding to traffic where the Avalon collied with the Corolla.

The driver and passenger of the Avalon seemed to have only minor injuries, while the driver and passenger of the Corolla who were older appeared with more serious injuries. All four were taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries. The driver and the passenger of the Corolla later died of their injuries.

Impairment is not believed to be a factor in this crash, but the police continue to investigate the accident. The identities of the victims and cause of death has not yet been released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

No more information is available at this time.

Help in a Crisis

Following a traumatic event, people often feel helpless, confused, and experience emotional shock. They are confronted with a situation for which they are totally unprepared.

Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP volunteer provides this necessary temporary support until persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors, and other resources in the community.
