Downtown Crash Leaves A Pedestrian Dead Thursday Night
The area of Eastern Avenue just south of Owens Avenue was the site of a deadly crash Thursday night according to police. The accident happened at around 11:18 p.m. and left one person dead.
According to police a woman was crossing Eastern Avenue outside the marked crosswalk when a 2019 Ram ProMaster box truck was traveling north on the same roadway.
The woman crossed the truck’s path and was hit by the truck. First responders took the pedestrian to UMC trauma center, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. The victim has not been identified and the crash is under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. This is the 89th traffic-related fatality in their jurisdiction so far this year.
