Crash Near Las Vegas Strip Leaves One Pedestrian Dead Early Friday
An accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle was reported early Friday morning on Tropicana Avenue near the Las Vegas Strip. The accident was reported at 2:23 a.m.
According to video of the crash and evidence at the scene. The pedestrian was walking across the southbound lanes of Tropicana Avenue outside of the marked crosswalk when she was struck by a 2018 Kia Niro when she crossed into its path.
Police and first responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The driver of the Kia remained at the scene and cooperated with police. The driver showed no signs of impairment. The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the crash.

According to a state report, 72 pedestrians and 14 bicyclists were killed on Clark County roads by the end of 2022.
