6 Year-Old Critically Injured Due To Dislodged Asphalt On Durango Drive
A 6-year-old child who was sitting in the back seat of a vehicle was critically injured Monday morning on Durango Drive.
According to Metro Police, a car was heading southbound on Durango Drive when a large portion of asphalt was dislodged by this car. A second car with the child inside was traveling northbound at the same time.
The dislodged asphalt came up and struck the child while in the rear seat. This happened at Durango Drive just south of Peace Way at 7:43 a.m. The child was transported to University Medical Center with critical injuries and remains in critical condition.
The driver was not impaired, and the collision is under investigation.
