Wrong-way crash on i215 in Northwest Las Vegas, NV


Two individuals were sent to the University Medical Center in Las Vegas on Wednesday after a wrong-way crash on the 215 Beltway in northwest Las Vegas. The crash occurred just after 4:13 p.m. and caused a closure of the beltway in both directions. By 5:39 p.m., eastbound lanes had reopened, while westbound lanes remained closed prior to North Durango Drive, according to the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada. Nevada State Police – Highway Patrol received reports of a Nissan Sentra travelling the wrong way on the beltway at 4:11 p.m., a public information officer revealed to Channel 13. Subsequently, at 4:13 p.m., the Sentra collided with a gray Chevrolet Silverado. State police suspect impairment on the part of the Sentra driver. Nevada State Police gave an update stating that the driver of the Nissan was a female, and her injuries are substantial but not life-threatening. The driver of the Silverado was a male, and his injuries were minor and non-life-threatening.
