Wheelchair Bound Man Dead After Being Hit By A Car On Sahara Avenue
A man crossing the street on Sahara Avenue had died according to police. On Friday night, August 2nd 2024 a man in a motorized scooter who was attempting to cross the streety but not in the crosswalk was hit by a 2010 Lexus RX.
The driver of the Lexus was heading west on Sahara, east of Valley View Boulevard at around 10:45 p.m.
The wheelchair bound man was crossing the street but was not in the crosswalk when he crossed paths with the Lexus.
When the Lexus hit the man he was thrown in the road. He was taken to University Medical Center where he later died of his injuries, he was 64 years old.
The driver of the Lexus stayed at the scene and was not impaired in any way. This is the 90th traffic related death in LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2024 so far.
