Utah Man Dies After Single Vehicle Crash Near Las Vegas Speedway
A rollover crash caused one Utah mans death Sunday afternoon near the Las Vegas Speedway.
According to Nevada Highway Patrol they were called to the scene of the crash at Interstate I-15 at mile maker 65 in the Southbound Lane approximately 13 miles north of the Las Vegas Speedway.
A 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south in the far left lane. The driver drifted onto the left shoulder, hit a paddle marker sign and tried to correct the problem but than overcorrected. The truck than overcorrected onto all lanes of traffic and came to the right dirt shoulder, rolled over and hit a large highway sign.
The 42 year-old driver, Carlos Madigal from St. George Utah was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is not known of impairment played a roll in the accident This the 65th traffic related death in The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Jurisdiction in 2024.
