Two dead in wrong-way crash along the i215 in Las Vegas, NV
Two lives were lost and three people were injured in a wrong-way crash that occurred early Saturday morning. According to Nevada State Police, the incident took place at around 2:40 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the 215 beltway, south of Town Center Drive. Investigators believe a white Cadillac was travelling in the wrong direction when it collided head-on with a Chevrolet pickup truck, with a Nissan being hit in the collision as well. The woman driving the Cadillac was pronounced dead at the scene, and the man driving the pickup truck also passed away. The passenger of the pickup truck was transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries, while the driver and passenger of the Nissan were taken to UMC with moderate injuries. After an hours-long closure, the northbound lanes of the 215 were reopened.
On Monday, the Clark County Coroner released the identities of the two people who were fatally injured in the crash. Jose Cutberto Tabares-Acosta, aged 48, and Quinyana Lonyae Long, aged 39, were both pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy revealed that the cause of Tabares-Acosta`s death was due to multiple blunt force injuries to the chest and extremities, while Long`s death was attributed to blunt force injuries to the head, trunk, and extremities.
