Suspected DUI Crash Leaves One Dead, Three Injured In North Las Vegas
North Las Vegas police responded to a crash on North 5th Street and Tropical Parkway early Monday morning. The crash occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m.
One woman was arrested on DUI charges that left one person dead and three others injured.
According to witness statements a gray Chrysler 200 was trying to make a left turn from Tropical Parkway onto 5th street when a black Jeep Cherokee ran a red light hitting the Chrysler.
The back seat passengers of the Chrysler a man and a woman, were thrown from the vehicle and later located by police on the road. The woman was confirmed dead at the scene, while the man sustained critical injuries. The driver and the front passenger of the Chrysler were also injured and taken to UMC.
The driver of the Jeep fled the scene but was later located and arrested at a nearby park. 30 year old Bria Standley was arrested on suspected DUI related charges.
NLVPD determined that speed and impairment were factors in the crash.
