Nevada Woman Dies In Crash Near Elko
A crash in Elko near Spring Creek High School has left one woman dead. According to police NHP responded to an accident on State Route 227.
Police believe a 2005 Jeep Liberty was driving south on SR227, at the same time a 2012 Toyota Tacoma was heading north on SR227.
The driver of the Jeep failed to maintain the travel lane and drove off the right side of the road. The driver tried to correct the action by steering left but ended up traveling across all lanes of traffic.
The front right of the Jeep crashed into the left front of the Tacoma and both vehicles came to end up on the shoulder of the highway.
61-year old Isabel Rosas of Spring Creek was driving the Tacoma was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
