Motorcyclist critically injured after suspected DUI accident in Las Vegas
On Thursday night, a motorcyclist was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a suspected drunk driver in the southeast Las Vegas valley. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the accident occurred at 11:35 p.m. at the intersection of East Tropicana Avenue and South Palm Street. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated that the 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling east on Tropicana when it was struck by a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado turning left onto Palm Street. The motorcyclist was taken to Sunrise Hospital’s trauma unit for treatment. The driver of the Silverado displayed indicators of impairment and was arrested and booked at the Clark County Detention Center for DUI charges. The accident is still under investigation.
