Man killed while tending to his stalled vehicle near Las Vegas
On May 1st, at approximately 10 p.m., a fatal accident occurred on US 95. Nevada State Police reported that a blue Dodge Avenger had stalled due to running out of gas, and the passenger, Khalin Hershel Houston, exited the vehicle to check on it. A gray Chrysler 200 did not slow down before hitting the Dodge and Houston, forcing the Dodge into the middle lane and the Chrysler into the right side shoulder where it caught fire. Houston was pronounced dead at the scene.

This year, 24 fatal crashes have occurred in Nevada, resulting in 26 fatalities, according to the State Police.
