Dump Truck Hits And Kills A Woman In Spring Valley, Wednesday
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to the 6th traffic related fatality so far this year in their jurisdiction. The accident happened just after 2 p.m. Wednesday near Flamingo Road and Rainbow Boulevard.
According to all the evidence gathered by police at the scene, the dump truck was stopped at a red light westbound on West Flamingo Road, approaching South Rainbow Boulevard , while a woman was standing on the northeast corner of the intersection on the sidewalk.
The light turned green for the driver of the truck to go and at the same time the walk signals turned for the pedestrian to go. The woman began walking across the intersection when the truck made a right turn and hit and ran over the pedestrian.
First responders pronounced the 56-year-old woman dead at the scene.
