DUI crash seriously injures man in Southwest Las Vegas
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. A 32-year-old man has been taken into custody on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) following a crash that left a 50-year-old man with life-threatening injuries on Friday night. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate that the crash occurred when a 2022 Toyota Tacoma failed to stop at the stop sign while traveling westbound on Pebble Road and struck the right side of a 2009 Acura TSX traveling northbound on Fort Apache Road, which had no stop sign controlling traffic. The collision redirected both vehicles in a northwesterly direction, and they came to rest in a dirt lot located on the northwest corner of the intersection. The driver of the Acura was extracted from the vehicle by Clark County Fire Fighters and transported to UMC Trauma for treatment of his injuries. The driver of the Toyota was administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which he failed, and was subsequently transported to Clark County Detention Center. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
