2 Pedestrians Struck And Pinned Under A Vehicle On Las Vegas Strip
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police reported a pedestrian vs car accident Friday around 5:30 p.m. along the Las Vegas Strip.
According to police the driver told police that they were attempting to avoid another accident when the pedestrians were hit.
Two pedestrians, a 49-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were hit and pinned under a vehicle. Bystanders helped free the two victims from under the vehicle.
According to evidence, a 66-year-old female driving a Toyota Camry was involved in a minor collision with another vehicle exiting a private drive on North Las Vegas Blvd just South of Flamingo Road.
The pedestrians were walking on the sidewalk across the same private drive area in the marked crosswalk when the driver of the Toyota backed up to clear the traffic on Las Vegas Blvd.
When the driver backed up she struck the two victims, pinning them underneath the vehicle. Both pedestrians were taken to a nearby hospital. The woman sustained moderate injuries, while the man was in critical condition.
The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with police and showed no signs of impairment. The crash is currently under investigation by Metro Police.
