McKay B. Whitney
McKay Whitney and his family have been in Southern Nevada for more than a hundred years. Several of Whitney’s ancestors helped shape Las Vegas and Southern Nevada into what it is today. Whitney’s family farmed and ranched the areas now known as Whitney (East Las Vegas near Boulder Highway) and Whitney Ranch (Henderson) since the early 1900s. They also farmed Moapa and Bunkerville since the 1800s.
McKay was born in Arizona, but grew up in Las Vegas, attending and obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree from UNLV in Advertising/Communications, with minors in Marriage and Family Therapy and Child Psychology.
He then attended Appalachian School of Law in Grundy, Virginia, on a full scholarship, and obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2010.
