Two teenagers ejected and killed in tragic accident near Pecos and Hacienda
Las Vegas police released more details and clarified initial reports regarding a crash that occurred on Saturday at the intersection of Pecos and Hacienda. The updated report revealed that the crash involved only two vehicles: a 2010 Pontiac G6 and a 2014 Ford Explorer. Investigators determined that evidence at the scene, as well as witness statements and crash video, indicated that the Pontiac had run a red light and collided with the Ford, which was in the process of making a left turn. The impact caused the Pontiac to strike a streetlight pole, resulting in the ejection of two 16-year-old passengers who were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Tragically, the passenger in the Pontiac was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver was transported to Sunrise Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The two individuals in the Ford were unharmed and showed no signs of impairment, according to police. The release of this updated information sheds more light on the circumstances surrounding the crash and provides a clearer picture of what occurred.
