Three-wheeled vehicle rider killed in accident near Nellis Blvd
On Tuesday evening, a driver was killed after colliding with a stopped vehicle in the eastern Las Vegas valley. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department determined that the crash happened around 7:35 p.m. on North Nellis Boulevard, north of the intersection with East Harris Avenue, between Washington and Bonanza. Evidence from the scene and video footage indicated that a 2022 Honda Accord had come to a halt behind traffic on southbound Nellis Boulevard when a three-wheeled 2020 Polaris Slingshot approached from behind and failed to stop, striking the rear of the Honda and severely damaging both vehicles. The driver of the Polaris sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries and showed no signs of impairment. The driver of the Honda was taken by ambulance to UMC Trauma, where he was treated and later released.
