Pedestrian killed in crash near Cheyenne and Las Vegas Blvd
A 59-year-old Las Vegas man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Friday night. Las Vegas police reported that the incident occurred at 8:43 p.m. on East Cheyenne Avenue, east of Las Vegas Boulevard North. Investigators stated that evidence found at the scene indicated that the pedestrian was crossing Cheyenne Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk.
The video player was playing an advertisement at the time of the incident. A 2009 BMW 325i was traveling on Cheyenne Avenue when the pedestrian walked into the path of the vehicle. The man was hit by the car and thrown onto the road. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died. As of Saturday morning, the pedestrian has not been identified. The driver of the BMW stayed at the scene, cooperated with the investigation, and did not show any signs of impairment.
