Drunk driver kills pedestrian in southwest Las Vegas
On Thursday, 10:47 p.m., a fatal accident occurred on South Rainbow Boulevard in the southwest Las Vegas valley. A 2020 Chevrolet 1500 Trail Boss was travelling northbound in the middle of three northbound lanes, when the front of the car struck a pedestrian. Medical personnel attempted to save the pedestrian’s life, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police observed signs of impairment in the driver of the Chevrolet, and the driver was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. The accident is believed to have been caused by a drunk driver.

From 2015 to 2019, the number of pedestrian fatalities and fatal crashes generally increased. A total of 378 fatalities and 368 fatal pedestrian incidents occurred on Nevada roadways.
