Driver found and arrested in fatal crash on Pyramid Drive
Las Vegas police have identified a sedan that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that resulted in the deaths of two teenagers. According to investigators, the crash occurred at 10:11 p.m. on March 1 on Vegas Drive at Pyramid Drive. Evidence found at the scene, as well as video surveillance and witness accounts, indicate that a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria and a 2015 Acura TLX were both traveling at a high speed on Vegas Drive. It was at this time that a 2005 Nissan Frontier turned into the path of the Ford and was struck. The Ford then collided with a light pole, while the Nissan came to a stop in the westbound lanes of Vegas Drive. Debris from the crash also hit two parked vehicles.
Police have stated that the Acura fled the scene of the crash and did not stop after the collision occurred. However, the driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. Unfortunately, both the driver and passenger of the Ford were pronounced dead at the scene. On Wednesday, Las Vegas police announced that they had identified the Acura and the individual who was behind the wheel that night. The driver was subsequently arrested and taken to the Clark County Detention center.
