Downtown Crash Leaves E-Bike Rider Dead, Thursday
Officials with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported a crash involving an E-bike rider and SUV Thursday afternoon in downtown Las Vegas.
According to police the accident happened at around 2 p.m at 15th Street and East Bridger Avenue, near Maryland Parkway and Fremont Street.
Police said that a Kia Sorento was driving south on 15th Street approaching Bridger. At the same time, the e-bike rider rode east on Bridger, approaching 15th Street.
The E-bike rider did not stop at the stop sign at the intersection and rode into the intersection and that’s when the accident happened. The front-right of the Kia hit the front of the e-bike. The rider of the e-bike fell into the roadway after being struck.
First responders arrived at the scene and found the 63-year-old rider deceased at the scene. The driver and passenger of the SUV stayed at the scene. Police have not released the cause of the crash pending further investigation.
