Deputy injured in crash and hit-and-run accident in Reno, NV


On Monday morning, the Reno Police Department reported a hit-and-run crash that left one deputy officer injured. According to authorities, the incident took place on the shoulder of North Virginia Street, south of Talus Way, when a truck traveling northbound collided with the driver’s side of the Reno Police vehicle. The truck further struck the ECSO deputy who was standing outside the patrol vehicle before driving away. A traffic stop was conducted, and it was determined that alcohol was the major cause of the crash. The driver of the truck was arrested and taken to the Washoe County Detention Facility. Meanwhile, the deputy was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
