Car Crash Involves Water District Truck In The Lakes Early Wednesday
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were called to a crash on Fort Apache Road near Spring Mountain Road, in The Lakes neighborhood, This accident happened around 5 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Circumstances appear that a sedan crashed into a Las Vegas Valley Water District truck, causing water to flow through the streets. The sedan also hit a fence for an apartment complex.
The circumstances of the accident have not been released but it has been reported that the crash involved an Air Vac/ Air Release device that lets air enter and exit a below ground pipeline, according to LVWD spokesperson. The pipeline below ground that was damaged was isolated for repair, this prevented any disruption in water service to the area. The LVWD is assessing the damage and will move forward with repairs at a future date.
Police said the driver of the sedan was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital. The cause of the crash is being investigated.
