Multi-Vehicle Crash Brings Traffic To A Standstill On Route I-80 In Washoe County
A 5 vehicle chain reaction crash caused traffic to be brought to a standstill early Wednesday morning on Interstate 80 near Waltham Way in Washoe County.
The accident was reported to the Nevada Highway Patrol at around 4:48 a.m.
According to the initial investigation a box truck traveling eastbound in the right lane failed to slow to traffic and crashed into the back of a 2021 Toyota Tacoma.
This initial accident caused a chain reaction where the Tacoma ran into a 2024 Ram 2500 Pickup and then the Ram hit a 2010 Honda Accord. The Honda then struck the back of a 2007 Toyota Rav4. In all ,5 vehicles were involved in the crash.
The driver of the Toyota Tacoma was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Other drivers involved in the crash reported only minor injuries.
The multi-vehicle crash left traffic at a standstill for several hours.
