Young woman struck and killed, no offending vehicle located in Las Vegas
At approximately 10 p.m. Tuesday, an accident occurred on Cheyenne Avenue between Civic Center Drive and Berg St. in North Las Vegas. According to the North Las Vegas Police Department, a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and died. The vehicle left the scene before police arrived. Police estimate that the pedestrian was a woman in her 20s or 30s. The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) has advised drivers in the area to use other routes while the police investigate the accident.

From 2015 to 2019, the number of pedestrian fatalities and fatal crashes generally increased. A total of 378 fatalities and 368 fatal pedestrian incidents occurred on Nevada roadways.
