Two teens killed in single-vehicle accident in the NE Vegas Valley
Two teenagers tragically lost their lives in an early Wednesday morning crash in east Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that the incident occurred at 2:09 a.m. on East Lake Mead Boulevard west of Los Feliz Street. Investigators revealed that evidence and video surveillance showed a 2002 Chevrolet Trail Blazer had been travelling westbound at a dangerously high rate of speed. Police also noted that neither of the two juveniles, aged 17 and 18, had been wearing seat belts. It is believed that the driver was unable to maintain control of the vehicle which then left the roadway and struck a brick wall. The vehicle then bounced back onto the road, and the passenger was ejected. Both teens were pronounced dead at the scene. The collision is still under investigation.
