Teen struck in crosswalk while crossing in Las Vegas, NV
At approximately 1:23 p.m. on Thursday, a collision occurred between a vehicle and a juvenile male who was walking in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Civic Center Drive and East Tonopah Avenue. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with North Valley Police Department`s investigation.
The juvenile, who is in his late teens, was transported to UMC trauma and is currently listed in critical condition. The North Las Vegas Police Department`s Traffic Division`s Major Collision Investigation Unit has responded and taken over the investigation.
The North Las Vegas Police Department urges all drivers and pedestrians to take extra care and caution when traveling in order to help prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

From 2015 to 2019, the number of pedestrian fatalities and fatal crashes generally increased. A total of 378 fatalities and 368 fatal pedestrian incidents occurred on Nevada roadways.
