Spring Valley Crash Leaves Motorcyclist Dead Wednesday
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to a fatal crash Wednesday night near Russell Road and Torrey Pines Drive in Spring Valley. The accident happened around 9:45 p.m. and involved a motorcycle and a vehicle.
First responders arrived and pronounced the motorcycle rider, a 49-year-old woman dead at the scene. According to evidence, a 2013 Ford Fusion driven by a 23-year-old woman was driving east on Russell Road and approaching a flashing yellow with a turn arrow. At the same time the motorcycle was traveling west on Russell on a green light at a high rate of speed. The vehicle failed to yield and turned left into the motorcycle’s path. The front of the motorcycle struck the right side of the and the rider was thrown from the bike.
According to police the driver of the car suffered minor injuries, but stayed at the scene and cooperated with police and did not show any signs of impairment. Police are continuing to investigate this accident.
