Pedestrian Suffers Life Threatening Injuries After Being Hit At Koval And Sands
According to the Metropolitan Police Department a man from Oklahoma City was hospitalized Sunday night with life -threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle near South Koval Lane just south of Sands Avenue. The crash was reported at 8:17 p.m.
Evidence is showing that a 2026 Nissan Kicks was stopped at a red light at a private intersection at Kreuger Drive, waiting at the light to enter Koval Lane. The pedestrian was reportedly crossing outside the marked or implied crosswalk against the light West of Koval Lane, going from south to north.
When the light turned for the vehicle to go, the Nissan began moving and the pedestrian fell to the ground near the right side of the vehicle with the car’s right tire nearly rolling over him.
The driver stopped immediately at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. The three other people in the vehicle did not suffer any injuries.
The pedestrian was identified as a man in his 50’s from Oklahoma City was taken to the hospital by first responders with life -threatening injuries. His name has not been released pending family notification. The crash remains under investigation by the LVMPD.
