Pedestrian Left With Critical Injuries After Causing Crash On East Flamingo
Police responded to a crash on East Flamingo Road west of Maryland Parkway on Saturday morning. The crash happened at around 8:46 a.m. and involved a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police used evidence at the scene, video surveillance, and witness statements to determine that the pedestrian ran across Flamingo Road not in the marked crosswalk and caused the accident.
The pedestrian was apparently running across the road at Flamingo and ran into the front of a stopped bus before entering into the roadway and ran into the path of a 2009 Hyundai Sonata.
The front of the vehicle struck the female pedestrian and she was thrown into the roadway. The woman was taken to Sunrise Hospital with critical injuries. The driver stopped immediately and remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. This is an ongoing investigation.
