Pedestrian killed on I15 in Las Vegas
On Sunday afternoon, Nevada State Police reported that a pedestrian had died on I-15 northbound, south of Lake Mead Boulevard. The driver of a commercial fuel truck had been travelling on I-15 northbound around 11:46 a.m. when the incident occurred. The pedestrian was in the far right travel lane ”for reasons unknown” just north of the truck when it struck them. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver sustained minor injuries. In a media release, police warned that the highway is no place for a pedestrian, and urged drivers to slow down, wear their seatbelt, never drive distracted or impaired. The freeway was closed initially, but reopened around 4 p.m.
