Pedestrian killed in tragic accident near Rancho and Palomino

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to two fatal crashes in the central and southwest valley on Thursday morning. Police reported that the first collision happened around 10:20 a.m. at the intersection of South Rancho Drive and Palomino Lane. A 46-year-old woman was tragically confirmed dead at the scene. Police stated that the woman had entered the roadway facing west on Palomino Lane, while a 53-year-old driver of a Chevrolet turned right at the intersection onto South Rancho Drive after being stopped at a red signal. The woman was struck by the Chevrolet and was driven over. Medical personnel determined that she was beyond medical resuscitation and passed away at the scene.

Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP volunteer provides this necessary temporary support until persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors, and other resources in the community.
